Taylor T5z Standard with Sitka Spruce Top 2014 - Present - Black

The Taylor T5z Standard is one of the most versatile guitars Taylor has made, blending the comfort and responsiveness of a compact electric-style hollowbody with the flexibility to cover acoustic-inspired, clean electric, driven rhythm, and lead tones from one instrument.

This 2022 Taylor T5z Standard features a Sitka spruce top in a sleek black finish with white binding. The smaller T5z body is designed to feel more familiar to electric players than a traditional acoustic, with a comfortable fast neck, jumbo frets, and an easy-playing feel that makes it a great fit for players coming from Les Pauls, PRS guitars, or other modern electric guitars.

The T5z electronics setup combines a concealed neck pickup, bridge humbucker, and body sensor controlled by a five-way selector. That gives it a wide tonal range, from warm acoustic-style textures and clean blended sounds to fuller electric tones through an amp or pedalboard. It is an especially useful guitar for players who want to cover a lot of ground without needing to bring multiple instruments.

This example is in great overall condition and plays exceptionally well. The action is comfortable, intonation is spot on, and the frets feel buttery with plenty of life remaining. There is one small chip on the back of the body and one tiny ding on the front lower edge, both shown in the photos. Outside of those small marks, it presents very cleanly.
