Taylor T5z Pro with Big Leaf Maple Top 2024 - Harbor Blue

This 2024 Taylor T5z Pro in Harbor Blue is one of those guitars that makes a lot more sense once you actually spend some time with one. It isn’t really an acoustic with electric features or an electric trying to sound acoustic — it’s Taylor’s purpose-built hollowbody hybrid, with a concealed neck humbucker, visible bridge humbucker, and acoustic body sensor all controlled through a five-way switch. You can move from warm, acoustic-leaning sounds into much more traditional electric territory without changing guitars.

This is the newer-generation T5z design with the lightweight ash hollowbody, figured Big Leaf maple top, carved-in armrest, and revised controls. The Harbor Blue finish is especially good on this one because the figuring underneath it is really strong. There’s a ton of flame running across the top, and the blue shifts quite a bit depending on the light.

At only 5.51 lbs on my scale, it barely feels like anything in your hands. The T5z neck is slim and quick, and this one has the low action these guitars are known for. I measured the neck at approximately 20.4mm at the 1st fret and 22.1mm at the 12th, so it stays comfortably slim as you move up the neck. The frets were polished before listing, the guitar received new strings, intonation is spot on, and the current setup passed inspection.

The electronics have been fully tested and everything is functioning properly. The five-way system is really where the T5z earns its keep — there’s a much wider range here than you would expect looking at the guitar, and the active controls make it easy to shape each position without fighting the amp.

Condition is Excellent. I’m not seeing any serious blemishes, repairs, finish cracks, or checking. The neck, fretboard, frets, body, and backside are all exceptionally clean, the truss rod functions properly with room in both directions, and the tuners are smooth and holding tune correctly.
