Some guitars come across your hands and you can just feel they were built to be special. This PRS SE Hollowbody II in Faded Blue Burst is one of them. The finish alone looks unreal—deep ocean blues shifting into lighter fades that ripple across the flame maple like movement under water. PRS absolutely nailed the visual magic on these, and in person it’s even more mesmerizing.
This one looked too good to be touched, and honestly…it barely has been. It still feels factory fresh—the toggle switch still has that stiff, new click, the frets are spotless, and the top shows no signs of play. At just 6 pounds 1 ounce, it’s incredibly comfortable and resonant in a way only a true hollowbody can be.
Tonally, the SE Hollowbody II sits in a sweet middle ground between airy semi-hollow warmth and focused solidbody clarity. The PRS 58/15 “S” humbuckers are extremely versatile—open, clean, and articulate with enough punch to handle gain without getting muddy. You get shimmer when you want shimmer, and sustain when you dig in. It’s the kind of guitar that rewards a light touch but still roars when pushed.
The fully-hollow maple top/back and mahogany sides give it that signature bloom and resonance—plugged in or unplugged, it feels alive. The construction on these is shockingly good for the SE line, which is why this model has become one of the most-loved PRS imports ever made.
