Some Les Pauls carry their age like a badge of honor—and this 2001 Standard Plus in Heritage Cherry Burst wears it beautifully.

The moment you open the pink-lined brown Gibson case and see that flame maple light up, it has that unmistakable early-2000s charm… the kind you just don’t see on new Standards anymore. It’s a guitar that feels warm, seasoned, and deeply inviting the second it’s in your hands.

The flame top is the star here—rich, lively, and far nicer than what you’d expect from most Plus tops of the era. Under the burst, you can see the grain shift and shimmer with even the slightest movement. It’s the kind of top that makes you pause for a second before plugging in, just to appreciate it.

Condition-wise, it’s in excellent shape for its age. Sure, there are a few tiny bumps and light scratches if you go hunting for them, but nothing that takes away from the impression of a very well-kept, respectfully owned Les Paul. No pickguard, no pickguard holes—just a clean top that lets the flame speak for itself.

At about 9.8 lbs, this is the real-deal, pre-chambered Gibson weight. Solid, sustaining, and powerful without feeling unbalanced. Once you settle in, it has that classic 50s-style carve—substantial but not oversized. It’s comfortable, confident, and feels like home after just a few minutes of playing.

Tonally, these early-2000s Standards are special for a reason. They have that thick, singing character that sits right between vintage warmth and modern clarity. This one sustains beautifully, stays in tune, and has that sweetness on the top end that makes solos feel almost vocal. I cannot stop picking this one up and noodling For hours.

It comes with the original Gibson hard shell case, completing the full early-2000s experience.

If you’ve been looking for a Les Paul Standard that has the look, the feel, and the character of a truly good one—one that’s been appreciated, kept clean, and still has a lifetime ahead of it—this is the kind of guitar you don’t let slip by.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and fully insured via Reverb Safe Shipping.
