This is a 2018 Gibson Les Paul Standard HP (High Performance) in the stunning Heritage Cherry Fade, and it’s easily one of the most refined Les Pauls I’ve owned. From the ultra-comfortable neck to the modern electronics and lighter, more resonant feel, this guitar truly lives up to the High Performance name.

The flame top is absolutely striking in person — deep, vivid, and dynamic under light. Photos honestly don’t do the finish justice. The guitar is in excellent overall condition, with only a few minor bumps and light swirl marks here and there, nothing structural or distracting. There is some minor finish refraction visible in direct sunlight, but there are no cracks, splits, or finish failures. This appears to be cosmetic and may be factory-normal for this run, but I want to be fully transparent.

Hardware & Upgrades

Originally equipped with Gibson’s G-Force automatic tuners, those have been professionally swapped for a brand-new set of Fender locking tuners. Slightly ironic, yes — but they work exceptionally well on this guitar. Tuning stability is rock-solid, restringing is fast, and the guitar feels better balanced overall. The original G-Force system is no longer installed.

The guitar retains all of the hallmark HP features, including:

  • Modern weight-relieved body that feels lighter and more resonant than a traditional Standard
  • Fast, comfortable neck profile that plays effortlessly up and down the board
  • Versatile electronics that offer a wide tonal range beyond a typical Les Paul
  • Premium fit and finish that genuinely feels a step above standard production models

Tone-wise, this guitar is incredibly versatile — thick and authoritative when pushed, but articulate and clear when you roll things back. It covers classic Les Paul territory with ease while also handling more modern styles effortlessly.
