This 2020 PRS S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut in Scarlet Red has that classic singlecut thing going on, but with the smoother, more refined PRS feel. It has the thicker, more confident feel you want from a McCarty-style guitar without feeling clunky, and at 7.72 pounds on my scale, it sits in a really comfortable range for a singlecut.

The Scarlet Red finish looks great in person. It has a deep, rich look with subtle figuring that catches the light without being too flashy. Paired with the cream pickup rings, bird inlays, and vintage-style tuner buttons, it has a really clean, classy look while still feeling a little more modern than a traditional Les Paul-style guitar.

Condition is excellent overall. The body and neck are both very clean, and I don’t see any dings, major scratches, or chips worth calling out. It still presents like a very well-kept guitar and has clearly not been abused.

Playability is exactly where I like to see it. The action is low and comfortable, the intonation is spot on, and there’s no buzzing. The frets are excellent, the strings are in excellent shape, and the guitar feels smooth up and down the neck. It has that easy PRS feel where you don’t feel like you’re fighting the instrument.

Spec-wise, this is the S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut setup: a mahogany body with a carved maple top, set mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, 24.594" scale length, 22 frets, PRS bird inlays, and the McCarty-style two-piece bridge. The shorter scale gives it a slightly softer, slinkier feel than a standard 25" PRS, which really fits this style of guitar.

Electronics are simple but very usable: two humbuckers, individual volume and tone controls, a 3-way toggle, and push/pull coil splits. The pickups are punchy and clear, and the coil splits work like they should, giving you a nice bit of extra range without making the guitar feel overly complicated.

What stood out to me:

  • Excellent overall condition
  • Scarlet Red finish with nice subtle figuring
  • Comfortable 7.72 pounds on my scale
  • Low, clean action with no buzzing
  • Spot-on intonation
  • Excellent frets
  • Smooth PRS neck feel
  • McCarty 594 short-scale feel
  • Two humbuckers with individual volume/tone controls
  • Push/pull coil splits for added versatility
  • Comes with PRS factory gig bag and complete case candy

This one is just a very clean, very easy-to-play PRS. It has the familiar singlecut thickness and punch, but with the polish and comfort PRS is known for.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.

⏳ Quick note
These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
