I’ve handled quite a few McCarty 594s over the years, and every once in a while one comes through that just feels right the second you pick it up. This particular one has that broken-in, dialed feel that usually takes years to develop—but it’s already there.

This is a PRS S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut in McCarty Sunburst (2020–2024), and it’s one of those guitars that immediately reminds you why the 594 platform has such a loyal following. It’s got that vintage-inspired foundation, but with PRS precision all over it.

The top is where this one really grabs you. The McCarty Sunburst finish has that deep, warm glow, and the figuring pops beautifully in the light—subtle, classy, and exactly what you want from a guitar like this. It presents incredibly well in person.

Tone-wise, this is pure 594 territory. The slightly thicker body and scale length give it that full, rounded low end with a sweet, vocal midrange. It’s got that “push” when you dig in, but it still cleans up beautifully. The stock pickups deliver that classic, articulate PRS voice—clear, balanced, and expressive without ever feeling sterile.

Where this one really separates itself is in the feel. It just came back from a fresh fret level and a new Tusq nut, and it shows. The playability is effortless—low friction, smooth bends, and everything rings out clean and true up the neck. It’s currently strung with NYXL 9.5s, which gives it that perfect in-between tension—easy to play, but still substantial enough to feel connected to the instrument.

Condition-wise, it’s in very good shape. The top is excellent and really clean. The back shows some light buckle rash, and there are a few small bumps on the back of the neck—but importantly, nothing is through the finish. It’s all purely cosmetic and doesn’t affect the feel or playability at all. Overall, it presents extremely well.

What stood out to me:

  • Beautiful McCarty Sunburst top with great figure and depth
  • Fresh fret level + Tusq nut = incredibly smooth, dialed-in playability
  • 594 platform tone—full, warm, and dynamically responsive
  • NYXL 9.5s give it a perfect balance of tension and comfort
  • Light cosmetic wear on the back, but overall very clean presentation
  • Completely stock electronics and pickups
  • Includes original PRS soft case

This is one of those guitars that doesn’t fight you at all—it just responds. Whether you’re playing clean, pushing an amp, or sitting somewhere in between, it feels alive in your hands.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.

⏳ Quick note
These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
