This is a 2020 PRS McCarty 594 Wood Library in Copperhead Burst—a particularly striking build that combines the vintage-inspired feel of the 594 platform with the upgraded woods and visual detail that make Wood Library instruments so desirable. It features a carved figured maple top over a mahogany body, a highly figured neck, 22-fret layout, PRS two-piece bridge, locking tuners, and the familiar four-knob control arrangement.
The Copperhead Burst finish is absolutely beautiful in person. It has a warm amber and copper center that transitions into darker reddish-brown edges, allowing the extremely tight flame figure to remain visible across the entire top. The figuring is deep, consistent, and highly dimensional, with a ton of movement as the guitar catches the light. Even among Wood Library builds, this is a top that immediately stands out.
The neck is nearly as impressive as the body. The flame runs the full length of the neck and continues onto the sides of the headstock, giving the guitar a level of visual continuity that you do not see on every Wood Library build. The Pattern Vintage carve has a thicker, substantial feel, but the low action, smooth frets, and excellent setup make it feel surprisingly fast and effortless. This is currently one of my favorite-playing PRS guitars—the neck feels solid without being cumbersome, and the guitar almost feels like it plays itself.
The original 58/15 LT pickups have the clear, open response that the McCarty 594 is known for. The neck position is warm and full without becoming muddy, while the bridge has plenty of definition and bite without sounding overly sharp. Both pickups remain articulate under gain, and the push/pull coil splits add brighter, more focused tones without taking away from the traditional layout of the guitar.
Each pickup has its own volume and tone control, making it easy to balance the two positions or dial in different sounds before switching between them. Combined with the independent coil splits, it is an extremely versatile setup that can cover warm vintage humbucker tones, cleaner split sounds, and everything in between.
At just 7.46 pounds on my scale, this is exceptionally light and comfortable for a carved maple and mahogany McCarty 594. It feels resonant and substantial without the weight that often comes with this style of guitar, making it an excellent choice for longer playing sessions.
This guitar is in very good overall condition and presents beautifully. There is a minor ding along the front binding, a very light mark on the upper horn, and some scuffing around portions of the back edges. The edge wear is easier to see under direct lighting and much less noticeable during normal handling. The neck remains in excellent condition, the frets are excellent, the electronics function properly, and intonation is spot on following a recent setup.
It includes the original Wood Library paisley hardshell case and the complete original case candy, including the hangtag, paperwork, manuals, and pictured accessories.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
