PRS Custom 24 Wood Library Black Gold Burst

This is a stunning 2020 PRS Wood Library Custom 24 in Black Gold Burst, built as a limited Sweetwater-exclusive Wood Library specification. It takes the already exceptional USA Core Custom 24 platform and elevates it with hand-selected woods, upscale appointments, and a top that is genuinely hard to stop looking at.

The Black Gold Burst finish is unreal in person. The heavily figured maple top has deep golden figuring through the center with rich dark edges that make the flame pop even harder. The figure runs aggressively across the entire top, including through the lower bout and around the horns. Even the binding is heavily flamed, and the transparent finish lets the figuring in the figured mahogany neck show through as well.

This Wood Library Custom 24 features a lightweight, resonant mahogany body paired with an Artist-grade carved flamed maple top, a fast Pattern Thin figured mahogany neck, smooth cocobolo fingerboard, and elegant J-Bird inlays. It has the classic 24-fret / 25-inch-scale PRS layout, giving you the speed and access of a modern performance guitar while still maintaining the substantial, premium feel that makes a USA Core PRS special.

Electronics are handled by the original TCI-tuned PRS 85/15 humbuckers. These are exceptionally clear, bright, and punchy pickups with a lot of detail under gain and plenty of articulation for clean tones. This particular guitar is especially inspiring to play—the neck, fretwork, and string feel work together so well that it genuinely feels like it plays itself. It is the kind of guitar you can sit with for hours.

The PRS Gen III tremolo bridge provides smooth vibrato response while retaining excellent tuning stability, and the guitar is fitted with locking tuners as expected on a high-end Core PRS. The previous owner installed faux-wood pickup rings and Schaller strap locks, both of which look great and complement the guitar nicely. The original pickup rings and original strap buttons are included as well.

This Custom 24 is in excellent overall condition with minimal fret wear, excellent fret condition, spot-on intonation, and a strong setup. There are some very light scratches from normal playing wear, but nothing that takes away from how clean and well-kept this guitar presents. It includes the deluxe PRS hardshell case, complete original paperwork and hangtags, original pickup rings, original strap buttons, and a leather strap.
