PRS Custom 24 Wood Library

This is one of those PRS guitars where the Wood Library and 10-Top designations both feel completely earned. The Eriza Verde finish is incredibly vibrant, the quilted maple top has movement everywhere you look, and the figured maple neck carries that same level of visual impact all the way to the headstock. What really pushed this one over the top for me is the wood pattern on the headstock veneer—it is substantially nicer and more interesting than what I typically see, even on other Wood Library builds.

This is a 2021 PRS Custom 24 Wood Library 10-Top built around a three-piece light swamp ash body, quilted maple 10-Top, and a Pattern Thin carved figured maple neck. It has the familiar balance and versatility of a Custom 24, but the upgraded woods make the entire guitar feel much more special than a standard Core model. At 7.72 pounds on my scale, it is also comfortably light and feels lively and responsive in hand.

The Eriza Verde finish is absolutely wild in person. It brings out the depth of the quilt without hiding the character of the wood, shifting between bright lime green and deeper emerald tones depending on the angle and lighting. The natural maple edge gives the top a clean outline, while the green-stained swamp ash back shows off its long, open grain. It is bold, but it still looks refined rather than overdone.

The neck may be my favorite part of the entire guitar. The figured maple runs the full length of the Pattern Thin carve, and the flame becomes especially pronounced as the light moves across it. The ziricote fretboard adds a darker contrast, finished with mother-of-pearl and paua bird inlays that flash with green, blue, and gold. Then there is that headstock veneer—the grain has an unusually dramatic, almost marbled appearance that gives this guitar its own identity before you even notice the rest of the spec.

It is loaded with the original PRS 85/15 TCI pickups and a 5-way blade switch. The pickups are clear, punchy, and articulate, with enough output to handle gain while still keeping chords separated and musical. The additional combinations from the 5-way blade are genuinely useful, giving you brighter and more open sounds alongside the full humbucker positions. It is an extremely versatile setup and a lot of fun to move through while playing.

The PRS Gen III tremolo feels smooth and stable, while the Phase III locking tuners make restringing easy and help keep everything solid. The action is excellent, the frets feel buttery, bends are smooth, and the intonation is spot on. It recently received a setup and is fully dialed in and ready to play.

Condition is excellent. This guitar appears to have seen hardly any play time and presents phenomenally well. The body, neck, fretboard, and frets are all exceptionally clean, with no significant wear or damage to call out. It includes the original black paisley hardshell case, tremolo arm, hangtag, inspection card, manuals, and complete original case candy.

You’ve got the classic Custom 24 layout, but with some upscale Wood Library appointments that make it feel more special in hand. The top is a beautifully figured quilted maple cap finished in that vivid green Eriza Verde, while the body is a three-piece light swamp ash build that helps keep the guitar lively, resonant, and comfortable on the shoulder.

The neck is a Pattern Thin carved figured maple piece, and it feels fantastic. It has that fast, easy PRS feel without losing substance, and the figuring running through the neck is the kind of detail that makes the guitar feel premium every time you pick it up. Paired with the ziricote fretboard and the mother-of-pearl/paua bird inlays, the whole instrument feels a notch above standard production territory.

Tone-wise, this one is loaded with the original PRS 85/15 TCI pickups, and they sound excellent. Clear, articulate, and powerful without getting harsh. The 5-way blade switching really makes this a fun one, because it gives you a lot of usable sounds beyond the typical straight humbucker setup. Between the pickup set and the switching, this is a guitar that can move from clean and chimey to thick and aggressive without feeling boxed in.

Playability is exactly what you would hope for. The action is excellent, the frets are buttery, the neck is straight, and the intonation is spot on. It has a recent setup and is fully dialed in and ready to go. At 7.72 pounds on my scale, it also sits in a really comfortable range for a Custom 24 and feels great in hand.

Condition is excellent. This guitar presents phenomenally well and appears to have hardly any play time at all. I’m not seeing any noteworthy wear to call out beyond the sort of extremely light handling signs you might expect on a very clean used instrument. It’s the kind of guitar that still gives you that “did this thing ever really get played?” feeling when you open the case.
