This is a 1993 PRS Custom 24 10 Top in Scarlet Red. It has the classic early Custom 24 setup: a figured maple 10 Top over a mahogany body, 24-fret rosewood board with bird inlays, PRS tremolo, locking tuners, and the original HFS and Vintage Bass pickups.
The top is the first thing you notice. The red is deep but still transparent enough to show the flame clearly, and the figuring changes quite a bit depending on the angle and lighting. It is a great-looking example of an early PRS, especially with the natural maple edge framing the top.
The original pickups sound excellent. The bridge is strong, clear, and punchy, while the neck has a warmer and smoother response. The five-way rotary gives you several useful combinations beyond the usual two-humbucker setup, making it easy to cover both thicker humbucker tones and clearer split-style sounds.
At 7.72 pounds on my scale, it feels balanced and comfortable. The neck is in excellent shape, the frets are very good with plenty of life left, and intonation is spot on. It sounds great and will receive a final setup before shipping so everything is properly dialed in.
Condition is very good overall and especially strong for a guitar from 1993. There are scattered light blemishes, scratches on the back, some normal aging and patina on the hardware, and light finish checking around the tuner area. Nothing takes away from the overall presentation, and the flame top still looks fantastic. It includes the original PRS hardshell case and complete case candy.
