This is a beautiful 2003 PRS Custom 24 10-Top in a deep quilted blue finish. These older Custom 24s have a feel and personality all their own, with the classic carved maple top, mahogany body and neck, 24-fret layout, PRS tremolo, and the original-style rotary pickup selector.

The quilt on this one is honestly incredible. It has a deep, almost three-dimensional look that moves all over the place as the light hits it. The blue is much darker and moodier in normal room lighting, but the brighter areas of the quilt really jump out when the guitar catches direct light. It is one of those tops that looks completely different depending on the angle.

The electronics work exactly as they should, including the factory-style rotary selector. The pickups are believed to be original based on what I was told and the otherwise original setup, but I have not removed them to personally verify the markings. They sound great either way—clear and full, with plenty of punch from the bridge and a smooth, musical neck sound. The rotary also gives you several really useful in-between tones that you do not get from a basic three-way setup.

It plays just as good as it looks. The guitar recently received a setup, the intonation is spot on, and the action feels great. Bends are smooth and easy, and the frets are in excellent condition with no noticeable divots or flat spots. It has that broken-in early-2000s PRS feel without feeling worn out or tired.

Condition is excellent for a guitar from 2003. The body and back are extremely clean, with only light finish scratches from normal handling. There is some minor finish haze and wear along the edges of the fretboard, along with one tiny ding on the face of the headstock. The hardware also shows some normal aging and oxidation. None of it takes away from how impressive the guitar presents, and the quilted top remains exceptionally clean.

It weighs 8.12 pounds on my scale and includes the original PRS hardshell case, hangtag, tremolo arm, and the pictured paperwork.

One photography note: I use a professional flash to bring out finish detail, figuring, and any blemishes. Because this is a darker blue guitar, the flash makes portions of the finish appear brighter in the photos than they may look under normal indoor lighting.
