PRS Custom 22 Tremolo 10-Top 2006 - Emerald Green

This is a beautiful 2006 PRS Custom 22 10 Top in Emerald Green, with one of the better quilted maple tops you will find on a guitar from this era. The green is deep and saturated, but the figuring underneath is what really makes it special. It has that three-dimensional movement that changes as you move the guitar in the light, with darker pockets of figuring surrounding bright emerald highlights across the entire carved top.

The Custom 22 has always been one of the most balanced guitars in the PRS lineup. It gives you the familiar carved maple top and mahogany body recipe, but with the slightly warmer, more open voice that comes from the 22-fret layout. This one has the classic PRS double-cut shape, a set mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, bird inlays, and the original PRS tremolo bridge. The trem is smooth, musical, and gives you that expressive PRS feel without making the guitar overly complicated.

It is loaded with the original PRS pickups and electronics, offering a really versatile mix of clear cleans, warm neck tones, and articulate bridge pickup punch. The controls are responsive and the guitar has plenty of sustain, but it still retains enough clarity to stay defined when you add gain. It is the kind of PRS that can cover a lot of ground without ever losing its character.

The quilted 10 Top is absolutely the centerpiece here. The Emerald Green finish has aged beautifully and gives the guitar a high-end, almost custom-shop appearance. The maple top has strong figuring from edge to edge, while the black back, neck, and headstock provide a clean contrast that makes the top pop even more.

This particular Custom 22 is in excellent shape for being roughly twenty years old. The neck is excellent, the guitar has been recently set up, intonation is spot on, and it plays and sounds amazing. The frets are in very good condition with plenty of life remaining.

There are some typical light bumps and surface scratches from normal use over the years, but nothing that affects playability or structural integrity. There was also some of the common PRS clearcoat hazing present when it came in. I was able to buff the majority of it out, and the more noticeable remaining spots are mainly around the control knobs where it is more difficult to access. The finish still presents extremely well overall, especially considering the age.
