PRS Custom 22 Tremolo 10-Top 2002 - 2020 - Cherry Sunburst

This is a 2002 PRS Custom 22 in Black Cherry, and that quilted top is easily the star of the guitar. The figuring has a ton of movement through the center, with darker flame around the horns and edges that gives it a really deep, almost three-dimensional look. It has clearly been played over the years, but the front has stayed remarkably clean and still presents beautifully.

The Custom 22 gives you the familiar carved maple and mahogany PRS build with a slightly more traditional 22-fret layout. It has a mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard with bird inlays, PRS tremolo, and the original PRS humbuckers. The control layout is simple and easy to use, with a three-way toggle, volume, and tone. The tone pot was just replaced with a brand-new factory PRS 500k pot.

The pickups have a strong, punchy sound that fits this guitar perfectly. The bridge has plenty of bite and definition without getting thin, while the neck stays thick and smooth. It sounds great clean, but it really comes alive with some gain and has that big, clear PRS sound these older Custom 22s are known for.

This one has also received a recent setup with new strings, along with a fret level, crown, and polish. The frets are smooth and in very good condition with lots of life left, intonation is spot on, and the guitar feels ready to play. It has the broken-in feel of an older PRS without feeling worn out or neglected.

Condition-wise, I would call it very good player’s condition. The quilted top is in excellent shape with no serious chips, dings, or scratches taking away from it. Most of the wear is on the back and neck, where there is some light buckle rash, finish fading, scuffing, and a more noticeable worn area on the back of the body. There is also some finish wear around the back of the headstock near the serial number and along parts of the neck. It is all honest play wear, and everything has been photographed clearly.

It includes the original PRS hardshell case, original hangtag, tremolo arm, eagle tag, and the pictured paperwork. The case also shows normal exterior wear from age and use.
