PRS CE 24 Wood Library Quilt Top

This 2025 PRS Wood Library CE-24 is a pretty serious step up from the normal CE-24 formula. It keeps the bolt-on construction and fast, responsive feel that makes the CE line so good, but this Wood Library run adds a quilted maple top, ebony fretboard, and satin Emerald Green finish that give it a completely different look and feel from the standard production version.

The top on this one is wild. It has a deep, almost three-dimensional quilt that moves all over the place in the light, and the satin Emerald Green finish lets you actually see the texture of the wood instead of burying it under a heavy gloss. The mahogany back is finished dark and understated, which makes the green top stand out even more.

Wood Library guitars sit in an interesting spot in the PRS lineup. They aren't Private Stock guitars, but they're built in limited dealer-selected runs using combinations of woods, finishes, and appointments that normally aren't offered on the regular production model. In this case, the biggest changes from a standard CE-24 are the quilt maple top, ebony fretboard, and satin finish.

At 7.31 lbs on my scale, it feels balanced and comfortable without being overly light. The Pattern Thin neck is exactly what you'd expect from a CE — quick without feeling insubstantial. I measured it at approximately 20.8mm at the 1st fret and 22.8mm at the 12th, and with the current low action it feels effortless to move around on. The frets are excellent, the neck is straight, and intonation is spot on.

The original PRS 85/15 pickups are a great match for this guitar. They have a lot of attack and clarity but still hit hard when you lean into them. This one feels very immediate and responsive, especially with gain, without getting muddy on the lower strings. The push/pull tone control also splits the pickups, giving you six usable combinations from the two humbuckers.

The electronics have been fully tested and everything functions normally. The tremolo feels smooth, the locking tuners hold tune properly, and the truss rod functions correctly with adjustment room in both directions.

Condition is Excellent. There are no repairs, finish cracks, checking, or notable dings. The satin top has a few extremely light pick marks that are more like handling marks than scratches and can really only be noticed when the light catches them. Otherwise this one is exceptionally clean throughout.
