This is a PRS CE 24-08 Black Limba Limited Edition, one of the more interesting variations PRS has done with the USA-built CE platform. Instead of the carved maple-top construction most people associate with a CE 24, this limited run uses a solid black limba body finished in satin nitro, paired with a bolt-on maple neck, rosewood fretboard and PRS’s full 24-08 switching system. It gives the guitar a completely different look and feel while keeping the fast, responsive personality that makes the CE line so good.
The black limba is easily the visual highlight. There is a ton of natural movement throughout the body—dark streaking, contrasting grain and little variations that make it look almost figured without relying on a maple cap. The natural finish lets all of that character stay visible, and the satin nitro keeps it from feeling overly polished or sterile. This is one of those guitars where the wood itself is the finish.
The bolt-on maple neck uses PRS’s Pattern Thin carve with a 25" scale length, 24 frets and rosewood fretboard with the classic bird inlays. The neck feels fast and familiar if you already like modern PRS guitars, while the satin treatment keeps things smooth and easy under the hand. This particular one has a really comfortable medium-action setup and feels noticeably resonant acoustically before you ever plug it in.
Electronics are where the 24-08 designation really matters. It has the original PRS 85/15 humbuckers with a three-way pickup selector and two individual mini toggles that independently switch each pickup between humbucker and single-coil operation. That gives you eight different pickup configurations rather than a simple global coil split. You can run full humbuckers, split either pickup independently, split both, or mix full and split voices together depending on the selector position.
The 85/15 pickups suit this guitar really well. They have plenty of clarity and extended top and bottom end, but the black limba body adds a nice warmth underneath them. Full humbucker settings have the punch and authority you expect from a CE, while the split positions clean up nicely and give you much more usable brighter tones than a basic two-humbucker setup.
Hardware includes the PRS patented tremolo and locking tuners, and everything is functioning exactly as it should. The current setup passed inspection, intonation is spot on, the frets are excellent and the electronics tested perfectly. At 7.72 lbs on my scale, it also sits in a really comfortable range and feels lively rather than heavy or overly dense.
Condition is excellent and very close to like new overall. The body, neck and backside are all exceptionally clean. The only real cosmetic wear I found is some light scratching on the black plastic rear cavity covers, which is minor and much easier to notice under direct lighting than during normal handling. Otherwise, the satin body and neck present extremely well.
It has a fresh set of strings and includes the pictured gig bag.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
