I’ve handled quite a few modern “do-it-all” guitars, but every now and then one comes through that really nails the balance between precision and feel—and this AZ2204N in Prussian Blue Metallic is exactly that kind of piece.

The first thing that hits you is the finish. That Prussian Blue Metallic has this deep, refined sheen to it—subtle until the light catches it, then it just comes alive. Paired with the tortoiseshell guard, it leans a little more upscale and understated than your typical Strat-style look. It’s clean, modern, and just feels like a serious instrument.

But where this particular one really shines is in the way it plays. The AZ neck carve is one of those profiles that just disappears in your hand—slightly oval, super comfortable, and fast without feeling thin or sterile. Add in the roasted maple neck and you get that extra stability and smooth, broken-in feel right out of the case. Bends on this one are effortless—exactly what you want when you’re playing anything expressive.

The stainless steel frets are a big part of that too—they’re incredibly smooth, super durable, and give the guitar that slick, almost glassy feel under your fingers. Combine that with the setup and spot-on intonation, and it’s the kind of guitar you can trust anywhere on the neck without thinking twice.

Tonally, this is where the AZ series separates itself. The Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups are clear, balanced, and extremely responsive. You get a true single-coil snap in the neck and middle, but with a bit more refinement and control than vintage-style pickups. The bridge humbucker brings in some punch without overpowering everything. And with Ibanez’s dyna-MIX9 switching system and Alter Switch, you’re looking at a huge range of usable tones—everything from classic Strat chime to thicker, more modern sounds—all without feeling gimmicky.

The Gotoh T1802 tremolo is another standout—super stable, smooth action, and returns to pitch reliably. It’s one of those bridges you actually want to use instead of avoiding.

Condition-wise, this one is in fantastic shape. Very clean overall with minimal signs of use—clearly well cared for and dialed in.

What stood out to me:

  • Prussian Blue Metallic finish with a refined, high-end look
  • Roasted maple neck with an incredibly smooth, broken-in feel
  • AZ neck profile—fast, comfortable, and easy to play for long sessions
  • Stainless steel frets that feel slick and will last practically forever
  • Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups—clear, balanced, and versatile
  • dyna-MIX9 switching system for a wide range of tones without compromise
  • Gotoh T1802 tremolo—stable, smooth, and reliable

This is one of those guitars that just makes you play better. It’s effortless, responsive, and incredibly versatile without losing personality—something a lot of “modern” guitars struggle with.
