I’ve handled a lot of Electromatic Jets, and every once in a while one shows up that really punches above what people expect from this line. This Gretsch G5232T Electromatic Double Jet FT in Fairlane Blue is one of those. This particular one has that deep metallic flake finish that just comes alive under light—it’s not just blue, it’s layered, shifting, and honestly hard to stop looking at.
The Fairlane Blue finish is a big part of the story here. It’s loaded with fine metallic flake that gives it that almost automotive depth—subtle at a distance, but up close it absolutely pops. Paired with the cream binding and chrome hardware, it gives off a really clean, slightly vintage-meets-modern look that Gretsch nails on these.
This is part of the newer Electromatic lineup, and it benefits from some meaningful upgrades. The chambered mahogany body keeps the weight down while adding resonance, and the arched maple top helps give it that snap and clarity. It feels lively in your hands—there’s a noticeable acoustic response even before you plug it in.
Condition-wise, this one is excellent, bordering on like-new. The only thing worth mentioning is a very light finish scratch on the back, and that’s really it. The rest of the guitar presents super clean. It’s also been properly set up, so it plays smooth, comfortable, and ready for anything right out of the case.
The pickups are another highlight here. You’re getting Black Top Filter’Trons, which sit in that perfect middle ground—clear and articulate like a single coil, but with the body and fullness of a humbucker. The bridge has that tight, punchy bite, while the neck stays warm without getting muddy. They really shine for anything from clean tones to driven rock.
And then there’s the Bigsby B50 vibrato—one of those features that just adds character. It’s smooth, musical, and perfect for subtle movement and expression. Combined with the anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge, tuning stability stays solid while still giving you that classic Gretsch feel.
The neck has a thin “U” profile, which makes it super approachable—fast enough for lead work, but still comfortable for rhythm. It’s one of those guitars you pick up and immediately feel at home on.
