I’ve handled a lot of Gibson models, and this particular Victory Figured has that cool “modern Gibson that still feels familiar” thing going on. It’s not trying to be a Les Paul copy, but you still get that solid, sustaining Gibson feel with a much sleeker body shape and a more performance-focused attitude. The Smokehouse Burst finish really works on this one too — deep, dark edges fading into that warm figured top with a lot of movement in the grain.

Condition-wise, this one is excellent and very close to like-new overall. There is one light chip on the headstock, but aside from that it’s exceptionally clean with little to no real signs of wear, scratches, dings, or rash. The finish is especially nice in person, and the figured top has a lot more character than a plain black or solid-color modern guitar. The electronics test clean, the neck is straight, the frets are in excellent shape, and the intonation is spot on.

The playability is honestly one of the best parts of this guitar. It has that low, slinky, easy-playing feel you want from a modern Gibson, and the PLEK’d fretwork really shows. The frets feel buttery, bends are smooth, and it plays cleanly with a recent setup. At 6.61 pounds on my scale, it’s also refreshingly lightweight — especially for a Gibson-style instrument with this much punch and sustain.

The Victory Figured is a cool one because it gives you a different flavor of Gibson without getting too far away from what makes a Gibson feel like a Gibson. The double-cut body gives it great upper-fret access, the figured top gives it a premium look, and the pickup/control layout keeps it simple and player-friendly. It feels fast, balanced, and comfortable, but still has that thick Gibson voice when you dig in.

What stood out to me:

  • Exceptionally clean Smokehouse Burst finish
  • Figured top has a great dark, moody look in person
  • Very lightweight at 6.61 pounds on my scale
  • PLEK’d feel with buttery frets
  • Low, slinky action
  • Smooth bends and easy playability
  • Straight neck and excellent fret condition
  • Electronics test clean
  • Intonation is spot on
  • Original hardshell case and complete case candy included
  • Light headstock chip noted for transparency

This is a killer option if you want something Gibson, but not the same Les Paul or SG everyone else is chasing. It has the quality, feel, and tone you’d expect, but with a more unique body shape, a standout figured top, and an extremely comfortable weight. It feels like a guitar that was built to actually be played, not just looked at.
