This 2026 Gibson SG Standard ’61 is finished in Blue Sky, and it’s one of those colors that really suits an SG. The transparent purple-blue finish still lets the mahogany grain show through underneath, giving it a lot more depth in person than a typical solid-color SG.

At 6.61 lbs on my scale, it’s exceptionally light and feels exactly how you want an SG to feel. The neck is fast, the action is low, and the setup is right where it should be. The neck is straight, intonation is spot on, and the frets are essentially like new. This one feels effortless to get around on.

The electronics have been fully tested and everything is working properly. The original pickups have that immediate, open SG response with plenty of bite when you dig in, while still having enough fullness to keep the bridge position from feeling thin.

Condition is Excellent and it presents very close to new. There are two very small finish dings on the backside, but they’re minor and easy to overlook. Otherwise, the body, neck, fretboard, and hardware are exceptionally clean.

It currently has Guyker locking tuners installed. I have the original Kluson tuners, and I’m happy to reinstall them before shipping if you’d prefer the guitar returned to its original configuration.

Includes the original Gibson hardshell case and complete case candy.

What stood out to me

  • The Blue Sky finish is a much less common SG color and looks fantastic over the visible mahogany grain.
  • At only 6.61 lbs, this one is extremely light.
  • The setup is excellent — low action, straight neck, clean frets, and effortless playability.
  • The locking tuners are a useful upgrade.

The photos shown are real photographs of this exact guitar. I do not use AI-generated imagery, replacement backgrounds, or image manipulation to misrepresent the condition of my guitars. What you see is the instrument you’ll receive.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and fully insured via Reverb Safe Shipping.

Quick note: Most of my guitars sell within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
