Questions about this guitar?
This is a 2021 Gibson SG Modern in Blueberry Fade, one of the more interesting modern takes Gibson has done on the SG platform. Instead of sticking completely to the traditional SG formula, the Modern pairs a mahogany body with an AA figured maple top, a 24-fret ebony fingerboard, compound radius, and an asymmetrical SlimTaper mahogany neck. It still feels unmistakably like an SG, but the added maple cap, extended fretboard and upgraded appointments give it a slightly more substantial, polished feel.
The Blueberry Fade finish is easily the highlight visually. It moves from an almost electric blue through violet and deep purple around the perimeter, and the figured maple underneath gives it a ton of movement depending on the light. The transparent finish also lets some of the natural grain and figuring show through rather than looking overly perfect or sterile. Clear top-hat knobs, black pickup rings and chrome hardware finish it off nicely.
Electronics are the original Gibson Burstbucker Pro Rhythm in the neck and Burstbucker Pro Plus Lead in the bridge. Both volume controls have push/pull coil taps, so there is considerably more range here than a traditional two-humbucker SG. Full humbucker mode has the punch and output you would expect, while the tapped settings open things up for brighter cleans and lighter rhythm work.
The asymmetrical SlimTaper neck is a big part of why this one plays so well. Combined with the 10"-16" compound-radius ebony board and 24 medium-jumbo frets, it feels fast without being overly thin. This one has just received a fresh setup with new 10s and the action is about as low as I would want to take it with the current relief—very easy to play with no buzzing. Intonation is spot on and the frets are in excellent shape.
It weighs 7.7 lbs on my scale, which is a really comfortable weight for an SG Modern.
Condition is very clean overall. There are a couple extremely light micro scuffs around the sides that are difficult to even capture in photos, along with some faint wall-hanger transfer/smudging along the neck edges. Nothing structural or concerning, and the guitar otherwise presents exceptionally well. The body, neck, backside and fretboard are all in excellent shape.
A particularly cool addition is the brand-new Gibson aluminum SG suitcase case included with it. These aluminum cases are much more substantial than the standard Gibson hardshell and are normally associated with some of Gibson's higher-end/High Performance-era instruments. It also includes the complete pictured case candy.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
