The Gibson Midtown Standard P-90 is one of those short-lived, under-the-radar models that quietly became a cult favorite—and for good reason. Produced only between 2012 and 2014, the Midtown sits in a space Gibson never really revisited: slimmer and lighter than a Les Paul, tighter and more focused than a full semi-hollow, with a feel that’s immediately different the moment you pick it up.
This one is in amazing shape for its age and looks even better in person. The Sunburst finish has great depth and warmth, and overall the guitar has been very well cared for. There is a small finish spot near the neck heel that may be able to be buffed out, along with a few very minor signs of normal handling—nothing structural and nothing that takes away from how clean this guitar presents.
The P-90s are where this guitar really shines. They’re raw, punchy, and incredibly responsive, with that unmistakable midrange bite and clarity that only a good set of P-90s delivers. Clean tones are open and articulate, while driven sounds have grit and character without ever getting muddy. It’s a guitar that feels alive under your hands and reacts beautifully to touch and dynamics.
It’s been professionally set up and plays effortlessly—smooth action, great intonation, and a neck that feels fast and comfortable all the way up the board. This is one of those guitars you plug in “just to test” and end up playing for way longer than planned.
These Midtown Standards are rare to see, especially in this condition, and they don’t come up often. Gibson never made a true replacement for this model, which only adds to its uniqueness and appeal.
It comes with a nice hardshell case to keep everything protected.
Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note
These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
