This 2015 Gibson Midtown Standard in Vintage Sunburst is an absolutely beautiful example of one of Gibson's more interesting semi-hollow designs. It's essentially Gibson's take on something between a Les Paul and an ES-335, with a more compact double-cutaway body, dual F-holes, and a gorgeous vintage sunburst finish. And this particular example has been kept in remarkable condition!
The finish is a rich golden amber through the center, fading into dark tobacco-brown edges. There's some beautiful natural wood grain visible across the top, and the matching sunburst back looks just as good. I love how understated and classic the whole guitar looks, especially with the black speed knobs, chrome humbuckers, and cream binding.
What makes the Midtown interesting is its construction. Gibson used a chambered mahogany body with a flat maple top, giving it a more compact footprint than a traditional ES-335. The original Burstbucker 1 and 2 humbuckers are still installed, along with the factory hardware and electronics.
And the sound really caught my attention. It's remarkably bright and resonant, with much more of that open, lively ES-335 character than I expected. It has a really nice response that sets it apart from a typical solid-body Gibson. All electronics have been tested and function correctly.
The neck is another highlight. It's a comfortable, slim '60s-style profile, measuring just 20.1 mm at the first fret and 22 mm at the 12th. The frets are in excellent shape, the action is comfortable at a medium height, and intonation is spot on. The existing setup passed inspection exactly as it came in, so nothing needed to be adjusted.
Condition is Excellent, and I really mean it. This guitar came from a collector and appears to have spent very little time outside its case. I looked it over from top to bottom and couldn't find a single blemish worth noting. The body, neck, back, frets, and fretboard are exceptionally clean, with no finish checking, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
It weighs 7.82 lbs on my scale and includes its original Gibson USA hardshell case and complete case candy. A beautifully preserved, all-original Midtown that's just as enjoyable to play as it is to look at.

⏳ Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
