There’s something special about a good ES-339 — and this one is a perfect example of why these guitars have such a devoted following.
This 2017 Gibson Memphis ES-339 with block inlays in Faded Cherry hits that rare sweet spot between classic semi-hollow warmth and a more compact, agile feel. If you’ve ever loved the sound of a 335 but wished it felt a little more immediate in the hands, the 339 delivers in a big way. It’s punchy, articulate, and incredibly responsive — the kind of guitar that makes you want to keep playing long after you planned to put it down.
Condition-wise, it sits comfortably in the very good to excellent range with honest, player-earned wear. The frets are in great shape with plenty of life left. There are no serious scratches, dings, or chips — just light signs of use that come with a guitar that’s actually been played and enjoyed. The pickguard does show some typical surface scratches from playing, which is completely cosmetic and visible in the photos. The neck is a standout: it’s worn in naturally and feels smooth and fast, while still retaining its glossy finish. There’s a small bump at the top of the headstock and some minor rash on the back, both purely cosmetic, but overall this guitar presents beautifully for its age.
It’s been given a fresh setup, the neck is straight, and it’s currently strung with brand new factory Gibson strings. The result is a guitar that plays effortlessly — low, comfortable action, great resonance unplugged, and that unmistakable Gibson semi-hollow voice once you plug in. These Memphis-built 339s are widely regarded as some of the best Gibson has made in the modern era, and many players will tell you they easily hold their own — if not outright outshine — their larger 335 counterparts.
It comes with a non-original hardshell case that fits and protects it well.
Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note
These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
