Gibson Mark Morton Signature Les Paul Modern Quilt 2026 - Translucent Ebony Burst Satin

This is a 2025 Gibson Mark Morton Les Paul Modern Quilt in Translucent Ebony Burst Satin, and this one makes a lot more sense once you know what it actually is. This was designed with Mark Morton of Lamb of God as a more aggressive, performance-focused take on the Les Paul Modern, while still keeping the guitar looking relatively understated. The result is a Les Paul that feels noticeably quicker and lighter than a traditional Standard, but still has the weight and response you expect when you dig into it.

The top on this one is absolutely killer. The AAA quilt has a ton of movement, but the dark satin finish keeps it from looking overly flashy. Straight on it can almost look smoky and subdued, then direct light pulls out all of the figuring underneath. The chrome hardware and gloss pickup surrounds contrast really well against the satin top too. Visually, it has a very modern heavy-metal look without screaming signature guitar.

At 7.72 lbs on my scale, it is incredibly comfortable for a Les Paul. The Ultra Modern weight relief is immediately noticeable, and combined with the slimmer neck and contoured heel, the whole guitar feels much easier to move around on than a traditional Les Paul. The ebony fretboard is slick, the frets feel buttery, and the low action on this one makes it genuinely effortless to play.

The electronics are one of the biggest reasons this model is different. It has Mark Morton’s Gibson Pickup Shop signature humbuckers, with the bridge pickup voiced hotter and more aggressive while the neck keeps more of that classic full Les Paul character. There is a lot of attack and definition here without the guitar becoming thin or sterile. Palm becoming thin or sterile. Palm-muted notes stay tight, leads cut through easily, and the neck pickup still has plenty of warmth. Electronics passed inspection with no issues.

Condition is excellent. It has been kept extremely well with only very minor evidence of normal handling. The top, neck, fretboard, frets and backside all inspected excellent. The neck is straight, intonation is spot on, and the current setup passed inspection exactly where it sits.

It includes the original Gibson Modern hardshell case and complete original case candy, including the uninstalled pickguard and accessories shown in the photos.
