Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro V 2019 - Present - Blueberry Burst

I’ve handled a lot of Les Pauls over the years, and the Traditional Pro models have always had a cool lane of their own. They keep the core feel of a real Les Paul, but add a more versatile electronics package that makes them more usable across different styles than a straight vintage-spec Standard. This particular Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro V in Blueberry Burst has that exact appeal — classic Les Paul weight, feel, and sustain, with a killer figured top and a lot more tonal flexibility under the hood.

The first thing that hits you is the finish. The Blueberry Burst top has a deep, electric blue center that fades into darker blue and purple around the edges, and the figuring underneath gives it a ton of movement in the light. It has that bold modern Gibson look without losing the familiar Les Paul shape and presence. The cream plastics, cream binding, uncovered zebra-style humbuckers, and dark hardware accents all work really well against the blue burst, giving it a sharp, stage-ready look.

This one is in excellent condition overall. There are some headstock hanger marks, some wear on a small portion of the side of the body, and a small touch-up area where the binding and neck meet. Outside of that, it presents very cleanly and still has a strong glossy shine. The top looks beautiful, the back is clean overall, and the guitar has clearly been well cared for.

Playability is right where you want it. It has nice action, buttery frets, new strings, spot-on intonation, and a comfortable setup that makes it easy to move around the neck. The frets are in excellent shape, bends feel smooth, and it has that solid Les Paul feel under the hands. Weight is 8.82 lbs on my scale, which gives it that reassuring Les Paul substance without feeling overly heavy.

Tonally, this is a big part of what makes the Traditional Pro V such a fun guitar. The humbuckers have plenty of punch and sustain, but the split-coil options open up a wider range of sounds than you’d normally expect from a Les Paul. It can do the thick, singing lead thing beautifully, but it also has enough clarity and snap available to cover cleaner parts, pushed blues, modern rock, and more articulate rhythm work. It feels like a great lead guitar — responsive, full, and easy to control.
