This is a 2008 Gibson Les Paul Traditional in Ebony, upgraded with active EMG pickups and set up as a serious rock-ready player. The Les Paul Traditional line was built to bring back more of the classic Les Paul feel—maple top, mahogany body, carved single-cut shape, bound body and neck, and that familiar no-nonsense Gibson layout that players know immediately when they pick one up.

The Ebony finish gives this one a clean, aggressive look, especially paired with the cream plastics, gold speed knobs, and uncovered EMG pickups. It has that classic black Les Paul stage presence, but with a much more modern voice under the hood. It is the kind of guitar that looks traditional from across the room, then absolutely lets loose once it’s plugged in.

The biggest change here is the upgraded active EMG pickup setup. The original pickups are no longer installed, and this guitar now has active EMGs with the proper pots installed. In my opinion, this setup completely wakes the guitar up for heavier rock and high-gain playing. It has tight low end, strong output, great sustain, and a more focused attack than the stock configuration. If you want a Les Paul Traditional that leans more powerful and modern rather than vintage-correct, this one makes a lot of sense.

It plays great as well. The frets are excellent, the fretboard has been oiled, the frets have been polished, and it has a fresh set of strings. The neck feels solid and comfortable, the intonation is spot on, and it has that thick Les Paul feel without being difficult to play. This one just feels ready to go.

Condition is excellent overall with some light scuffs and marks on the back and sides, but nothing major and nothing structural. The guitar has been kept clean, and there are no breaks or repair issues noted. One important note: the bridge pickup volume pot spins 360 degrees, but it functions properly and works fine. It can even be used almost like a kill-switch style effect, but I want to be fully transparent about that quirk.

It includes the original Gibson hardshell case and the inspection sheet.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.

Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
