This is one of those Les Paul Studios where the word “Studio” really undersells what you’re looking at. It’s a 2007 Gibson Les Paul Studio Premium Plus in Natural, and the entire reason these have become such cool sleepers is sitting right on the front of the guitar—that top is ridiculous. The figuring is dense from edge to edge, with a warm golden color that changes from almost pale blonde to deep honey depending on the light.
I actually like the lack of body binding here because there’s nothing separating your eye from the maple. It gives the guitar a cleaner look and makes that flame feel even more pronounced. Add in the cream plastics, aged gold hardware and rosewood board, and it has a really classy late-2000s Gibson look without feeling overly dressed up.
It’s also surprisingly light. This one comes in at 7.32 lbs on my scale, and you notice it immediately when you pick it up. For a full-size carved-top Les Paul, it feels extremely comfortable and easy to move around with. The neck is on the slimmer side as well, so between the weight and the neck shape, this is a Les Paul I could comfortably play for a long time without fighting it.
The electronics sound excellent. There’s plenty of attack and definition, while still having the fullness you want from a Les Paul. Electronics passed inspection with no issues.
The current setup is also really solid. The neck is straight, the frets are excellent, intonation is spot on, and it has a comfortable medium action. Everything feels smooth and easy under the fingers, and overall this is just a really comfortable Les Paul.
Cosmetically, it has been kept exceptionally well for a 2007 guitar. The top, back and neck all present beautifully. There is some light finish checking around the edges of the headstock and along portions of the fretboard edge, but nothing that takes away from how clean the guitar looks overall. There are no major cosmetic issues jumping out at you when it’s in your hands.
The knobs have been changed to the cream set currently pictured, and I think they look killer against the Natural top. The original amber knobs are included as well, so it can easily be returned to the original look if preferred.
It includes the original Gibson hardshell case and inspection paperwork.
What stood out to me
- Absolutely wild flame maple top—the photos barely need any help selling this one
- Natural finish has a beautiful golden/honey appearance in person
- Premium Plus is a much less common Studio variation than the standard models you normally see
- Extremely light at 7.32 lbs on my scale
- Slimmer-feeling neck makes it immediately comfortable
- Pickups have a really punchy, lively response
- Excellent fret condition and spot-on intonation
- Very clean overall for a 2007 guitar
- Light finish checking around the headstock/fretboard edges gives away the age more than actual wear does
- Cream knobs look great with the finish, and the originals are included
- Original Gibson hardshell case included
Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
