Gibson Les Paul Standard T 2016 - Gold Top

I’ve handled quite a few Les Paul Standards over the years, and this particular 2016 Standard T has that classic Gold Top presence that always feels a little more timeless in person. The gold finish has a warm, vintage-style glow to it, the cream plastics set it off perfectly, and the back has that rich natural mahogany look that gives the guitar a really classy, traditional feel.

This one plays exactly how you want a Les Paul Standard to play. The neck feels comfortable in hand, the frets are buttery, and the action is dialed in low and easy without buzz. It has a warm, full voice with that familiar Les Paul thickness, but still feels responsive and lively under the fingers. Everything appears to be original, and it has been recently set up with the intonation spot on.

Condition-wise, it presents very well overall, especially from the front. There are a couple of light finish-check marks on the front body wings that only really show in the right light, along with some visible marks/wear on the back body from normal handling and use. I’d still consider this a clean, excellent player-grade example rather than a closet queen. Nothing affects the feel, playability, or function, but I want to be clear about the honest cosmetic signs that are there. The neck is excellent, the frets are in great shape, and the guitar still has a sharp, well-cared-for look overall.
