This is a 2025 Gibson Les Paul Standard ’60s Mahogany Top in TV Yellow, and it is one of the more interesting versions of the modern Standard. Instead of the usual maple cap, Gibson built this one with a solid mahogany body and carved mahogany top. It keeps the familiar Les Paul Standard feel but gives the guitar a slightly warmer, fuller voice with plenty of midrange.

The TV Yellow finish looks fantastic over the visible mahogany grain. It is not completely opaque, so you can still see plenty of natural texture across the top, back and neck. The black binding give it a sharp contrast that really works with the yellow, while the nickel hardware keeps the overall look classic rather than overly flashy.

The original 60s Burstbucker pickups sound great in this guitar. They have plenty of punch and clarity, but the all-mahogany construction gives them a little more warmth and body than you might expect from a traditional maple-top Standard. The controls are hand-wired with Orange Drop capacitors, and everything works exactly as it should.

The mahogany neck has Gibson’s SlimTaper profile, and this one feels especially smooth and easy to play. The frets are excellent, bends feel buttery, and the recent setup has the action sitting comfortably with spot-on intonation. It is one of those guitars that feels immediately familiar as soon as you pick it up.

I am listing it in very good condition to keep expectations conservative, but it presents much closer to excellent overall. There is some light finish checking along the sides of the neck near the fretboard. It can be seen under the right lighting, but it cannot be felt while playing. There are also two very small finish dings around the back and sides. Outside of those noted areas, the guitar is exceptionally clean and shows very little use.

It weighs 8.82 pounds on my scale and includes the original Gibson hardshell case along with the complete factory case candy, paperwork, strap and accessory kit.
