Questions about this guitar?

This Gibson Les Paul Standard ’60s in Iced Tea is an absolutely gorgeous example of the modern Original Collection formula done right. It has the classic non-weight-relieved mahogany body, AA figured maple top, SlimTaper mahogany neck, bound rosewood fretboard, and the kind of full, sustaining response that makes a good Les Paul feel hard to put down.

The Iced Tea finish is incredible on this one. It has that warm golden center with deep tea-burst edges, but the figuring underneath is what really makes it stand out. The flame has a lot of movement across the top and shifts nicely under different lighting, giving it that familiar vintage-burst look without feeling overly bright or flashy. It is one of those tops that immediately pulls you in when you open the case.

This is a proper solid-body Les Paul Standard with no weight relief, so it has the thickness, sustain, and low-mid punch players expect from the model. The carved AA figured maple cap adds some clarity and attack on top of that mahogany warmth, making it feel equally at home for blues, classic rock, heavier gain, and big singing lead tones.

The SlimTaper neck gives it a noticeably faster and easier feel than the chunkier ’50s profile. It is comfortable in the hand, easy to move around on, and works especially well with the low-action setup this one has. The bound rosewood fretboard, medium-jumbo frets, and 12-inch radius keep it familiar and smooth whether you are playing chords down low or bending higher up the neck.

It is loaded with the original 60s Burstbucker pickups, which use Alnico 5 magnets and have a little more bite and upper-mid clarity than a softer PAF-style set. The neck pickup stays warm and open without getting muddy, while the bridge pickup has plenty of punch and cut when you push it. The hand-wired two-volume, two-tone control layout with Orange Drop capacitors gives you a lot of room to clean things up, blend the pickups, or really shape the guitar around your amp.

This particular example is in amazing, near-new condition and genuinely looks like it has seen very little playtime. The body, neck, frets, hardware, and electronics all present extremely well. The chrome hardware and pickup covers still shine beautifully, the frets are excellent, and there are no major dings, chips, breaks, cracks, or distracting wear to call out.

It has low action with no buzzing, spot-on intonation, and it sounds incredible. This is one of those guitars that feels immediately right when you pick it up—smooth, substantial, responsive, and very hard not to keep playing. It weighs 9.27 pounds on my scale and includes the original Gibson hardshell case along with the complete original case candy and accessories.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.

Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!

Buying direct from me

Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
