Questions about this guitar?

This is a beautiful 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Heritage Burst, built during the major redesign of the Standard platform. These guitars paired the classic carved maple-over-mahogany construction with a chambered body, asymmetrical neck profile, locking hardware, and a more modern player-focused feel. At only 7.72 pounds on my scale, this one is exceptionally light and comfortable for a full-size USA Les Paul.

The Heritage Burst finish looks fantastic over a genuinely attractive figured maple top. It has a warm amber center that gradually darkens into rich brown around the edges, with long horizontal flame running across most of the body. The figuring changes noticeably with the angle and lighting, giving the guitar plenty of movement without looking overly flashy. Cream plastics, amber control knobs, trapezoid inlays, and chrome hardware complete the classic Standard appearance.

The two-humbucker electronics are fully functional and the guitar sounds excellent. It has the thick sustain and fullness expected from a Les Paul, but the lighter chambered construction gives it a lively, responsive quality with plenty of clarity. The neck position is warm and musical, the bridge has strong definition and bite, and the middle position balances both nicely for cleaner rhythm work.

The neck has a noticeably slim and comfortable feel, with the asymmetrical profile sitting naturally in the hand. Combined with the light body, smooth frets, and strong setup, it is an extremely easy Les Paul to play. The action is nice and low, bends feel effortless, intonation is spot on, and the excellent-condition frets provide a smooth playing surface with plenty of life remaining. It has also been fitted with new strings and recently set up.

Condition is very good to excellent overall. There are some minor superficial finish scratches on the back consistent with careful use, but nothing appears to break through the finish and there is no notable structural damage. The top presents beautifully, the neck remains exceptionally clean, and the guitar has clearly been well cared for. It includes the pictured case.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.

Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!

Buying direct from me

I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.

Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.

Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
