This is a 1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Wine Red, and it’s every bit the guitar you’d hope for from this era. At almost 30 years old, it’s in excellent condition for its age—a few small bumps and light finish scratches here and there, but nothing that takes away from its presence. The finish still shines beautifully, and up close you really get that sense of an instrument that’s aged well.
It weighs in at 9 lbs 11 oz—that classic late-’90s heft that gives you sustain for days and tone you just don’t hear in lighter builds. The neck is straight, frets are leveled, and it’s had a full setup, so it plays as smoothly as it sounds. The pickups deliver that unmistakable Les Paul growl and clarity, and the guitar just feels alive in your hands. Has the original Gibson humbucker 490R/498T pickups and wiring.
It comes with the original premium Gibson hard shell case, complete with the built-in pad lock, which has held up nicely over the years. This is one of those guitars that doesn’t just hold value—it appreciates with time, and it’s getting harder and harder to find.
Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. All purchases are Reverb Safe + Insured, so your investment and gear are fully protected.
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
