Gibson Les Paul Special SL with Humbuckers 1998 - 2006 - Cinnamon

This is a Gibson Les Paul Special SL with Humbuckers, finished in a worn cherry-style mahogany look that gives it a stripped-down, no-frills Les Paul feel. The Special SL is a cool late-’90s/early-2000s USA Gibson model that keeps the core Les Paul formula simple: a flat-top single-cut body, set neck construction, dual humbuckers, four-knob control layout, and stopbar/Tune-O-Matic setup without the extra weight or flash of a Standard.

Visually, this one has a great raw, natural Gibson look. The open-grain cherry finish lets the mahogany character show through, and it has that faded, broken-in feel that makes these guitars feel more like working instruments than case pieces. It is not a mint collector guitar, but it has a really cool look in person and a lot of personality.

The original pickups are still installed and tested properly. Tonally, it has the kind of full, punchy humbucker sound you want from a simple Les Paul—thick enough for rock and heavier gain, but still clear enough for blues, classic rock, and clean rhythm work. The four-knob layout gives you the familiar independent volume and tone control for each pickup, so it still behaves like a proper Les Paul even with the more stripped-down Special SL body.

The neck is the highlight for me. It feels fantastic—comfortable, easy to play, and very familiar if you like Gibson set-neck guitars. This one is also lighter and more comfortable than a lot of full Les Paul models, which makes it a great option if you want that Gibson feel without the usual weight. The frets are excellent, the fretboard is clean, the electronics pass, and the intonation is spot on.

Condition is good overall, with the important notes being cosmetic/finish issues that are clearly shown. There is a small split/check near the control knob area on the body, and another visible split/check on the back of the headstock near one of the tuners. The guitar has passed inspection, plays well, sounds great, and these issues do not affect current playability, but they are the reason I am listing this as a player-grade example rather than a cleaner collector piece. The body is otherwise very good, the neck is excellent, and there are no electronics issues to note.
