This is a 2018 Gibson Les Paul Signature Player Plus in Satin Ocean Blue, one of the more unusual Les Paul variations from Gibson’s 2018 Player Plus lineup. Gibson built these around a traditional, non-weight-relieved mahogany body with an AA figured maple top, then gave them a satin finish, rounded mahogany neck and a handful of player-focused appointments that separate them from the more familiar Standards and Classics of the same era.
The Satin Ocean Blue finish is easily the standout here. The blue is intentionally thin and translucent enough to let the natural character of the maple show through, and this particular top has a ton of movement. There is strong flame through the upper half and around the perimeter, with larger, almost quilt-like figuring through portions of the lower bout. The satin treatment gives the whole thing a much more organic look than a heavily glossed figured top, especially where some of the natural maple coloration shows through the blue. The white binding and black hardware tie it together really well.
Electronics are the original BurstBucker Pro Rhythm and BurstBucker Pro Lead humbuckers. They have the familiar Les Paul fullness but with a little more bite, clarity and attack than a softer vintage-output set. The bridge has plenty of punch for driven tones, while the neck stays full without getting overly muddy. The complete electronics system passed inspection with no issues.
The rounded mahogany neck is paired with a bound Richlite fingerboard, acrylic trapezoid inlays and 22 frets. Gibson also used cryogenically treated frets on the Player Plus series. This particular guitar feels great in the hands—the satin neck is especially comfortable, the frets are excellent, and the current setup has comfortable medium-low action with no buzzing. Intonation is spot on.
Hardware includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge with titanium saddles, Stop Bar tailpiece and chrome kidney-style tuners. At 9.2 lbs on my scale, it has a substantial traditional Les Paul feel, which makes sense given that Gibson did not use weight relief on this model.
Condition is very good overall. The satin finish shows the kind of honest play and rub wear these finishes naturally pick up, along with some light bumps and marks throughout. There is also a little visible pick wear around the bridge pickup from normal strumming. Nothing stands out as major, and the neck itself remains in excellent condition. The top still presents incredibly well and the figuring is easily the first thing you notice when you pick it up.
It includes the original Gibson hardshell case and factory inspection sheet.

⏳ Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
