Gibson Les Paul Less Plus 2015 - Heritage Cherry Sunburst

I’ve handled quite a few Les Pauls over the years—and every now and then one comes through that really hits that balance people are always chasing. This 2015 Gibson Les Paul Less Plus in Heritage Cherry Sunburst is one of those. This particular one has a top that immediately pulls you in—tight flame with just the right amount of movement, and that classic cherry burst that fades beautifully from edge to center.

The whole idea behind the Less Plus line was simple: keep everything people love about a Les Paul, but make it more comfortable. And Gibson actually nailed it here. You’re getting a thinner, lighter body that still feels solid and substantial, but without the usual shoulder fatigue. It’s the kind of guitar you pick up and instantly notice—you can play it longer, and it just feels easier to live with.

This one has clearly been played and enjoyed, but also well taken care of. It’s in very good condition overall, and honestly would present near excellent if not for a couple honest marks: there’s a bump on the back and a small chip at the top of the headstock. Nothing structural, nothing affecting playability—just real-world wear. Outside of that, it cleans up extremely well and still has that strong visual presence.

Where this one really stands out is in the upgrades—and they’re the right kind of upgrades. The original brass nut has been swapped for a titanium nut, which gives you a bit more clarity and durability, especially on open strings. The original is included if you ever want to revert. Same story with the tuners—the stock G-Force robo tuners have been replaced with Kluson locking tuners, which most players strongly prefer for stability and simplicity. And again, the originals are included.

Playability is exactly what you’d hope for. It’s been properly set up, and it shows—the neck feels smooth and broken-in, action is dialed, and it just responds effortlessly. Tonally, it delivers that unmistakable Les Paul character: warm, full lows, rich mids, and smooth highs, with plenty of sustain. It’s everything you want, just in a more comfortable package.

And being a 2015 model, you also get that unique piece of Gibson history—the Les Paul 100th anniversary year, complete with the special gold molded hardshell case and full case candy. It’s a cool touch that sets it apart from standard years.
