I’ve handled quite a few Les Pauls over the years, and every now and then one comes through that completely flips the script on what you expect from the platform. This particular one does exactly that.
This is a Gibson Les Paul Faded Double Cutaway in Worn Cherry from the early 2000s era, and it’s one of those models that quietly built a cult following for a reason. It strips away the weight and gloss of a traditional Les Paul and replaces it with something raw, lightweight, and incredibly alive in your hands.
The worn cherry finish lets the mahogany breathe—both visually and tonally. You can actually feel the wood through the finish, and it gives the whole guitar this organic, broken-in character that you just don’t get with thicker gloss models. It’s not trying to be flashy—it’s just honest. And that honesty comes through the second you plug it in.
What really stands out with this particular one is how effortless it feels. At right around 7 pounds even, it’s insanely comfortable—whether you’re standing or sitting, it just disappears on you. The double cutaway design makes upper fret access a breeze, and the neck has that fast, broken-in Gibson feel that makes you want to keep playing longer than you planned.
Tonally, these are punchy, direct, and surprisingly versatile. The P-90 pickups bring that raw midrange bite and clarity that cuts through without getting harsh—perfect for everything from clean, dynamic playing to gritty, driven tones. It’s a different flavor of Les Paul, and honestly, a really addictive one.
Condition-wise, this one is in very good shape. The main wear is some buckle rash along the side from lap play, along with the kind of honest play wear you expect on a thin, worn finish like this. Nothing structural, nothing concerning—just character that fits the guitar perfectly. The frets are in great shape, the neck is straight, and the intonation is dialed right in.
It also comes with the original Gibson gig bag and paperwork, which is always a nice bonus—especially on a model like this.
What stood out to me

Worn cherry finish — raw, broken-in feel you can actually feel through
Double cutaway design — easy upper fret access
P-90 pickups — punchy, articulate, and full of character
Fast neck — effortless playability
Honest wear — natural aging that matches the vibe of the guitar
Original Gibson gig bag and paperwork included
Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note
These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
