There’s something about a black Les Paul Custom that just looks right, and this 2019 is a particularly clean one. The Ebony finish, multi-ply binding, pearl block inlays, split-diamond headstock and lightly aged gold hardware give it exactly the look you want from a Custom without it feeling overly worn or beat up. The little bit of patina starting to show on the hardware actually suits it really well.
This one plays every bit as good as it looks. It has a recent setup, the intonation is spot on, and the frets are in excellent shape. The action is comfortable and the whole guitar has that smooth, substantial Les Paul Custom feel without fighting you anywhere. At 9.92 lbs on my scale, it has some reassuring weight behind it without getting into the truly back-breaking territory some Customs can.
The electronics passed a complete test and the original pickups are still in place. What immediately stood out to me was how punchy and responsive this one is. There’s plenty of output and authority, but it still reacts really well to your hands rather than just sounding compressed or overly hot. The neck position has the fullness you expect out of a Custom, while the bridge has plenty of bite and presence. It’s one of those guitars where chords feel big and single notes seem to jump out of the amp.
What stood out to me:
- The classic Ebony/gold Les Paul Custom combination is hard to beat
- Super responsive, punchy pickups that feel very alive under your hands
- Frets feel excellent and the guitar plays extremely smoothly
- 9.92 lbs on my scale
- Beautiful light patina beginning to develop on the gold hardware
- Extremely clean condition for a 2019
- Original hardshell case with complete case candy
Condition is excellent. I found no notable dings, chips, or heavy scratches through the finish. There are some normal light finish scratches here and there, along with typical scratches on the pickguard that show under direct light. The gold hardware has some light natural patina as pictured. Overall, it presents extremely well and has clearly been taken care of.
Includes the original Gibson Custom hardshell case and complete case candy, including the COA.
Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
