Gibson Les Paul Classic 2023 - Deep Purple

I’ve handled quite a few Les Paul Classics over the years, but this particular one stands out the moment you catch it in the right light. At first glance, it reads almost black—clean, understated, classic. But then it shifts… and that deep purple comes alive in a way that’s hard to photograph and even harder to forget.

It’s one of those finishes you don’t see often, and once you do, it sticks with you.

Condition-wise, this one has been very well cared for. It’s in excellent shape with only the faintest signs of use—some light surface swirling on the body and headstock that you’d need a bright light to really pick up. No distractions, no surprises—just a clean, dialed-in instrument that feels right the second you pick it up.

Playability is exactly what you’d want from a Classic. It’s been freshly set up with Dunlop 10s, frets have been polished, and the fretboard has been conditioned. The result is a smooth, effortless feel up and down the neck. It’s lively, resonant, and has that punchy, articulate response that makes these Classics so addictive—especially when you dig in.

A really nice upgrade here is the addition of Grover locking tuners. They make string changes quick and keep everything rock solid in tuning, which is a practical improvement you’ll appreciate immediately.

What stood out to me:
