This 2015 Gibson Les Paul Classic 100 in Seafoam Green is one of those Les Pauls that immediately reminds you how wild and interesting Gibson’s 2015 lineup really was. Between the 100th anniversary appointments, the bold finish, the figured maple top, the uncovered zebra pickups, the onboard boost, and the factory G-Force tuning system, this is far from a plain Les Paul Classic — it is a feature-packed, extremely versatile version of the model with a look you do not see every day.

The finish is the first thing that grabs your attention. The Seafoam Green top has a beautiful faded, almost washed-in look that lets the flame and figuring show through in a really unique way. It is not the usual burst or solid color Les Paul look — it has its own personality entirely. The figuring has a great amount of movement in person, and the green works beautifully against the cream plastics, gold speed knobs, and natural mahogany back.

This model was part of Gibson’s 2015 100th anniversary era, which included several distinctive factory features. You get the Les Paul 100 headstock script, the wider 2015 neck feel, the zero-fret adjustable nut, and the factory G-Force automatic tuners. Whether you love the 2015 specs for their uniqueness or you are looking for something a little different from the standard Les Paul formula, this one definitely has its own identity.

Tonally, this guitar is a lot more flexible than most Les Pauls. The uncovered zebra humbuckers already give it a more open, lively look and sound, but the real fun is in the electronics. With coil-splitting and the active boost, this guitar can cover a surprisingly wide range of ground — thick humbucker tones, brighter split-coil sounds, and a boosted lead voice when you want more push. It is one of the more versatile Les Paul setups Gibson offered, and it makes the guitar feel very useful for recording, gigging, or anyone who likes having more than just the traditional two-humbucker layout.

Playability is excellent. It has a recent setup, new strings, spot-on intonation, and excellent frets. The guitar plays cleanly, feels smooth, and the setup makes it very easy to enjoy right away. It has that familiar Les Paul sustain and punch, but with a more modern control layout that gives you a lot more room to shape the sound.

It weighs 8.82 lbs on my scale, which is a very comfortable weight for a carved-top Les Paul and gives it a great balance between resonance, sustain, and manageable feel.

Condition is excellent and very close to near-new overall. The guitar is extremely clean with a beautiful top, very little wear, and excellent frets. The only notable cosmetic item is one small superficial mark on the headstock tip. Otherwise, it presents beautifully and looks very lightly played.

Included with the guitar is the original Gibson hard shell case along with the complete case candy shown.
