Gibson Kirk Hammett "Greeny” Les Paul Standard 2023 - Present - Greeny Burst

This one is Gibson’s production take on one of the most recognizable Les Pauls ever — the Peter Green / Gary Moore / Kirk Hammett “Greeny.” The big thing with this model is that it isn’t just a normal Les Paul Standard with a signature name on it. Gibson built these around that specific Greeny formula: Greenybucker pickups, the reversed magnetic polarity setup for that unmistakable middle-position out-of-phase tone, a chunky ’50s-style neck, figured maple top, mahogany body, rosewood board, and the classic Les Paul Standard feel.

This particular one is a really clean example. The top has a great look to it, with a nice Greeny Burst fade and a flame pattern that shows well without looking overly perfect or fake. It has that broken-in vintage visual thing Gibson was going for, but condition-wise this guitar is about as fresh as they come. Practically unplayed. There are a couple very light superficial scuffs on the bottom/back side, but outside of that it is genuinely close to new. The pickups are still extremely clean and the guitar has clearly been handled carefully.

Playability is excellent. The neck is straight, the action is low, and there is no buzzing. The frets feel smooth and easy, and the guitar has that thick, punchy Les Paul response you want from this style of build. The neck has some real meat to it, so this is definitely more in the chunky ’50s camp rather than a slim taper feel. The Greenybuckers sound great — full and clear on their own, with that nasal, hollow, out-of-phase character in the middle position that makes this model stand apart from a standard Les Paul.
