Some guitars just stick with you—and this ES-335 is one of those. The figured maple on this one is outstanding, with deep, rolling flame that really comes alive under light. Finished in classic Figured Cherry, it’s one of those tops you keep pulling back out of the case “just to look at it.”
Tone-wise, it’s everything you want from a great 335: open and airy when played clean, rich and vocal when pushed, with that unmistakable semi-hollow resonance that feels alive in your hands. It’s all original, sounds incredible, and has been professionally set up and polished to a showroom shine. At 8.1 lbs, it’s right in the sweet spot—balanced, comfortable, and effortless to play. No fret wear whatsoever.
Condition & Transparency
This guitar is in incredible overall condition, with two things worth noting—both fully documented:
- Headstock repair: There was a small, non-structural fracture on the back of the headstock. Importantly, the headstock never broke through or lifted, and the crack was very minor. On 2013 Gibsons, the clear coat is nitrocellulose lacquer, and in this case it appears the finish took the brunt of the stress rather than the wood itself.
The area has been professionally repaired, is smooth to the touch, and is as stable as any other ES-335. No movement, no issues—just peace of mind.
- Small side ding: There is a small ding on the side (pictured). Aside from this, the guitar presents extremely clean and close to like-new.
Because of this transparency, this is a huge win in savings for the buyer who understands what they’re getting: a killer, fully sorted ES-335 at a price you simply don’t see for this level of condition and figuring.
