There is something about a good ES-335 that just feels alive in your hands, and this 2010 Gibson ES-335 Dot in Figured Lightburst has that feel immediately. It has the classic semi-hollow warmth and openness you want from a 335, but this one also has a really beautiful figured top and back that give it a little extra personality visually.

The Lightburst finish looks fantastic on this one. It has that golden center with darker edges that makes the flame figuring jump depending on the angle. The figuring is not overly flashy in a modern figured-top way — it has more of that classic Gibson look where the wood has movement, depth, and character without feeling overdone. The back is especially nice too, with strong figuring that really shows in the light.

Tonally, this is exactly the kind of guitar that makes the ES-335 such a staple. It has the warmth and fullness of a semi-hollow, but still keeps enough bite and clarity to cut through. The original humbuckers sound excellent and cover a lot of ground — smooth neck tones, open clean sounds, and a great pushed bridge tone when you dig in.

This one also has a kill switch added, which is a cool touch and gives the guitar a little extra personality without changing what makes it a great 335. It is still very much a classic ES-335 at its core, just with one useful added feature for players who like that stutter-style effect or want something a little different available on the fly.

Playability is strong. It has new strings, spot-on intonation, excellent frets, and a comfortable setup. The guitar weighs 7.72 lbs on my scale, which is a really nice weight for an ES-335. It feels resonant, balanced, and easy to settle into.

Condition is very good overall. There are some marks in the finish here and there on the front and back, along with typical light signs of use, but overall it presents very cleanly. There is also some light checking near the neck/body area, but it cannot be felt and does not affect playability. The neck and body are both structurally solid, and the guitar plays and sounds excellent.

It comes with the original Gibson hard shell case and complete case candy.
