There are guitars you buy, and then there are guitars you experience. This is firmly the latter.
This is a 2012 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard F, finished in an absolutely striking Translucent Teal that’s even better in person than it is in photos. I’ve seen similar guitars in this shade referred to as “Peacock,” but Gibson has this one officially listed as teal—and according to Gibson support, that alone points to it being a limited or special run due to how uncommon the color is.
The “F” designation indicates a highly figured maple top, and it does not disappoint. The figuring dances under the finish, and the darker, richer teal gives it a depth that changes depending on the light. It’s one of those finishes you keep stopping to look at, even when it’s sitting in the case.
Condition-wise, this guitar is in excellent shape, especially considering its age. It’s clearly lived most of its life as a case queen, with no major dings or scratches. The gold hardware is also in excellent condition, with no worn spots or corrosion. It’s a very clean example overall.
It plays and sounds exactly like you’d expect from a proper Custom Shop Les Paul. It’s loaded with a Burstbucker 2 in the neck and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge, a classic pairing that delivers everything from warm, articulate cleans to authoritative, harmonically rich drive. The guitar weighs in at approximately 9.5 lbs, giving it that solid, resonant feel without being unwieldy.
It’s also equipped with factory-installed locking Sperzel tuners, which work flawlessly and keep tuning rock solid. Everything on the guitar is original, with the only exception being Schaller strap lock buttons—and the original strap buttons are included with the guitar.
I’ll be upfront: I didn’t plan on selling this one. I just got her as a gift for myself. I fully expected it to stay in my collection, but at this point I can’t justify holding onto something this valuable. That said, I’m in no rush—if it doesn’t sell, I’d happily keep it. This is my first Gibson Custom Shop, and I can honestly say it’s a game-changing experience compared to the typical Standards I’ve owned.
The guitar comes with its original made-in-Canada Gibson Custom Shop hard shell case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity, warranty pamphlet, and the pre-pack and final inspection checklist.
If you’re looking for a genuinely special Les Paul—one with rarity, character, and true Custom Shop pedigree—this is it.
Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note
These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
Questions before you buy? Ask me anything — more photos, a specific measurement, or anything the listing doesn't cover.
