This is a 2002 Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS, made in Mexico and finished in that classy Midnight Wine color that really catches the light. It’s been played over the years and carries some signs of that history—a few chips, scratches, and some wear on the neck and headstock—but it’s still in very good shape overall, especially for a 20+ year old Strat. It has upgraded Seymour Duncan pickups that absolutely deliver.
I picked this one up from its original owner, who held onto it for years before arthritis made it too difficult to play. I’m letting it go at cost as a favor, just trying to get it into the hands of someone who’ll appreciate it.
The frets have been recently leveled, though they could use a good polish if you’re particular about feel. The neck is straight and solid, and the HSS pickup configuration gives you a lot of tonal flexibility—from warm cleans to punchier lead tones.
