This is a 2024 Fender Made in Japan Hybrid II Telecaster Quilt in Red Beryl, one of the limited-production 2024 models that takes the already excellent Hybrid II platform and dresses it up with a quilted maple top. The Hybrid II series is one of those Fender Japan lines that gets the balance right between traditional Telecaster character and genuinely useful modern upgrades, and this particular Red Beryl version is considerably more visually striking than a standard production Tele.
The quilt on this one is fantastic. Red Beryl is a deep, transparent red that lets the figure move all the way across the top, with especially strong quilting through the upper bout and around the edges. The white pearloid pickguard gives it an almost custom-order appearance against the red, while the chrome hardware keeps everything unmistakably Fender. Even the maple neck has some subtle flame running through it, which is a nice little bonus that shows up especially well under direct light.
Underneath the quilted top is the familiar alder-based Hybrid II construction, paired with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. The neck has Fender’s Modern “C” profile, a 9.5" radius and narrow-tall frets. This particular neck feels fairly thin in the hand and is very easy to move around on. The satin-finished back keeps it from feeling sticky, and the 22-fret layout gives it a more contemporary playing feel without turning it into something that no longer feels like a Telecaster.
The original Hybrid II Custom Voiced Telecaster single-coils are still installed, and this is genuinely one of the better-sounding Telecasters I currently own. It has all of the attack and clarity you want from a Tele, but the four-way pickup selector adds a very useful fourth sound. You get the bridge pickup, both pickups in parallel, the neck pickup, and then both pickups wired in series. That series position is noticeably bigger, thicker and louder than the traditional middle setting and gives the guitar a surprisingly muscular voice without needing a humbucker.
The bridge retains the vintage-style three-saddle look but uses compensated/slanted brass saddles, which is a smart combination of traditional appearance and improved intonation. It also has Fender’s vintage-style locking tuners, another subtle modern upgrade that makes string changes and tuning stability a little easier without changing the overall aesthetic.
This guitar weighs 7.72 lbs on my scale and feels very comfortable. It has had a recent setup, the intonation is spot on, the frets are excellent, and the rosewood fingerboard is in excellent condition. Action is comfortable and medium, and everything electronically has been fully tested and is working correctly.
Cosmetically, I’m listing it in Very Good condition primarily because of one repaired chip on the lower body edge near the output jack. The repair is clearly photographed and is localized to that area. Outside of it, the guitar is in excellent shape overall—the top, neck and rest of the body present extremely well, and there is nothing else I would consider major.
It includes the original Fender gig bag along with the complete original case candy and Japanese documentation shown in the photos.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
