One of a kind — when it's gone, it's gone.

Every once in a while Fender does a limited run that feels genuinely special, and this 2017 Fender Limited Edition Reclaimed Old Globe Cooked Pine Jazzmaster is one of those guitars. It has the familiar offset feel of a Jazzmaster, but the reclaimed pine body, natural finish, black guard, soapbar-style pickups, and roasted-looking maple neck give it a completely different personality from a standard production Jazzmaster.

The story behind this model is a big part of what makes it cool. Fender built these as part of the 2017 Limited Edition Exotic Collection, using reclaimed old-growth Eastern White Pine from the historic Old Globe grain elevator in Superior, Wisconsin. According to the included Fender literature, that elevator was originally completed in 1887 and was once one of the largest grain elevators in the world. The wood was later reclaimed and seasoned for guitar making, giving these instruments a very unique backstory and a look that feels much more organic than a typical factory finish.

Visually, this one has a ton of character. The pine body has beautiful natural grain, knots, darker streaks, and warm amber coloring throughout. It has that worn-in, almost custom-shop-style vibe where the wood itself is the main feature. The back is especially striking, with bold grain patterns and dark knot lines running through the body. It feels rustic in the best way, but still clean and polished enough to look like a high-end limited Fender piece.

The neck is another standout. The maple has a gorgeous figured look to it, and the darker skunk stripe down the back gives it a really sharp contrast. The matching natural headstock with the burned-in-style Fender Jazzmaster logo looks fantastic and fits the whole reclaimed wood theme perfectly.

Tonally, this guitar has that big, open Jazzmaster-style sound but with a little more directness and punch from the simplified pickup/control layout. The pickups sound clear, full, and lively, with plenty of chime, warmth, and bite depending on where you set the controls. It has a very immediate feel under the hands, and the pine body gives it a resonant, lightweight, responsive character that makes it a lot of fun to play.

The layout is clean and player-friendly: two pickups, a 3-way toggle, volume, tone, and a hardtail-style bridge setup. No overly complicated switching, no trem system to fight with — just a great-sounding offset that feels focused, reliable, and easy to dial in.

Condition is excellent overall. Really close to new. The natural wood finish makes the small marks blend into the overall character of the instrument really well. The guitar has been inspected, tested, and plays great.

Included with the guitar is the Fender hard shell case, certificate of authenticity, hang tags, paperwork, pouch, and case candy shown.
