Here we go—this one’s a sleeper if you position it right. The Roadhouse isn’t just another Strat, it’s a player’s Strat with way more range than people expect.

I’ve handled a lot of Strats over the years, but every once in a while one comes through that just feels a little more alive—and this Deluxe Roadhouse is one of those. It’s one of those guitars that looks classic at a glance, but the more time you spend with it, the more you realize there’s a lot more going on under the hood.

Finished in Vintage White with that maple board, it has that clean, timeless Strat look—but what really stands out is how untouched this one is. It’s about as close as you’ll get to a “time capsule” piece without buying new. The plastic is still on the pickguard, the original tag is still hanging from the headstock, and it’s clear this one was more admired than played. No real wear to speak of—just a super clean, well-kept example.

This was the last year of this particular series!

Once you plug it in, that’s where things get interesting.

This is loaded with Texas Special pickups, so you’re getting that hotter, punchier Strat voice—more bite, more midrange, and a little more attitude compared to a traditional vintage set. It still has the clarity and snap you expect, but it pushes an amp just a bit harder in a really satisfying way.

Then there’s the part most people overlook—the onboard preamp and the 6-position rotary tone switch. This isn’t just a tone knob—it’s essentially six distinct voicings built right into the guitar. You can go from clean, glassy Strat tones to thicker, almost humbucker-like warmth without touching your amp. It’s insanely versatile, especially if you’re someone who plays across multiple styles.

And if you ever want to keep things completely traditional, the S-1 switch lets you bypass the preamp entirely and run it like a straight-up Strat. That flexibility is what makes this model so underrated—you’re basically getting multiple guitars in one.

The neck feels exactly how you’d want it to—comfortable, smooth, and broken in just enough without any wear. Frets are excellent, action is dialed, and it plays effortlessly up and down the board. It’s the kind of guitar you pick up and don’t want to put down.

It comes with the original Fender deluxe gig bag, and just like the guitar, it’s in great shape.

What stood out to me
This one genuinely feels like a collector-grade example that still begs to be played. The condition is about as clean as it gets for a 2016, and the versatility from the preamp + rotary switch combo makes it way more capable than your average Strat. It’s one of those guitars that can cover a full set without ever switching instruments.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.

⏳ Quick note
These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 1–5 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
