This is an exceptional 2023 Fender Custom Shop Sweetwater Dealer Select ’60 Stratocaster in Olympic White, built around the classic 1960 Strat platform but with a spec sheet that goes well beyond a standard vintage reissue. It combines a sorted roasted alder body, NOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish, 3A roasted flame-maple neck, AAA rosewood fingerboard, hand-wound ’64 Strat pickups and several modernized playability touches while keeping the overall look unmistakably early ’60s Fender.
The Olympic White NOS finish is beautifully clean and understated. Rather than adding artificial aging or heavy relic work, the NOS treatment gives it the appearance of a carefully preserved vintage-style Strat, with the mint-style guard, aged-white plastics, clay-style dots and rosewood board giving it exactly the right amount of contrast. The body is in incredible condition and presents very close to new.
The neck is what makes this guitar ridiculous. Fender spec’d it with 3A roasted flame maple, and this particular piece earned the “flame thrower” nickname immediately. The figuring runs essentially the entire length of the neck and continues around the back of the headstock, with deep, tight flame that moves dramatically in the light. It is easily one of the most figured Custom Shop Strat necks I’ve come across and completely changes the personality of what would otherwise be a very traditional Olympic White ’60s Strat.
Underneath that appearance is a really usable neck spec. The shop-floor traveler calls out a 60 Style Oval “C” profile measuring approximately .790" at the first fret and .930" at the 12th, an 11" fingerboard radius, 1.650" nut width, narrow-tall 6105 frets and an AAA rosewood fingerboard. That combination gives it a vintage-inspired feel without the tighter radius and smaller frets that can make some period-correct reissues less forgiving. It feels comfortable, substantial enough to hold onto, but still quick and easy across the board.
Electronics are another major highlight. It retains its original hand-wound ’64 Strat single-coils, including the reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup, along with Fender’s 1/2 blender control arrangement. The neck pickup is easily my favorite sound in this guitar—it has that addictive, glassy Strat clean tone with a lot of resonance and clarity, but it never feels thin. The bridge has plenty of cut, the in-between settings have the expected Strat quack, and the blender wiring gives you additional combinations beyond a completely traditional five-way setup.
The hardware package includes Fender’s RSD Strat bridge, vintage-style components, staggered tuners and the period-inspired details laid out on the original Custom Shop traveler. Everything functions correctly, intonation is spot on, and the current setup passed inspection. The frets are excellent and the guitar feels comfortable with medium action.
Condition is excellent and very close to new. The body, backside, neck, fingerboard and frets are all exceptionally clean, with virtually nothing cosmetically that takes away from the guitar. It includes the original brown Fender Custom Shop hardshell case along with the complete case candy, Certificate of Authenticity, shop-floor traveler, paperwork and accessories shown in the photos.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and insured.
⏳ Quick note: These guitars don’t usually sit. Most are purchased within 3–7 days, and I regularly hear from watchers after the listing has already sold. If this one’s on your radar, now’s the window!
I bought this guitar, inspected it, photographed it, dialed it in, and I'll be the one packing it. If something isn't right when it arrives, you're not filing a ticket — you're emailing the person who put it in the box.
Same guitar, same packing, same insurance, same 3-day return window you'd get anywhere else I list it. It just costs less here, because there's no platform fee in the price.
