I’ve handled a lot of Tele-style guitars over the years, and these ’72-style semi-hollow Teles have always had their own thing going on. They still give you that familiar Fender snap and immediacy, but the semi-hollow body, dual Wide Range-style humbuckers, and offset pickguard layout give them a warmer, more open personality than a standard Telecaster. This particular Fender 1972 Reissue Telecaster in Natural has a great vintage-inspired look with a beautifully simple ash-style grain showing through the clear finish.

Visually, this one has that clean, natural wood character that makes these so appealing. The body has a warm golden hue, the grain has a lot of movement, and the pearloid pickguard gives it just enough flash without taking away from the stripped-down, classic feel. The maple neck ties the whole look together and keeps it feeling very Fender — bright, clean, and instantly familiar.

This one is in very good condition overall. It does have a few bumps, bruises, and finish marks here and there, mostly within the thicker clear finish, and I made sure to picture the blemishes clearly. There are some visible marks around the body edges and back, but nothing that affects playability or takes away from the overall presentation. For a guitar like this, it still shows really well and has a lot of life and character without feeling abused.

Playability is excellent. The neck is in excellent condition, the frets are in excellent shape, the electronics tested perfectly, and the intonation is spot on. The setup is solid as it sits, and it plays comfortably with that familiar Fender feel — easy to move around on, lively under the hands, and very responsive. It sounds amazing plugged in, with the original pickups delivering that thicker, warmer Wide Range-style voice while still keeping plenty of clarity and definition.

What stood out to me:

  • Natural finish with great visible wood grain
  • Semi-hollow Telecaster body with F-hole
  • Original pickups
  • Pearloid pickguard
  • Maple neck and fretboard
  • Excellent neck condition
  • Excellent fret condition
  • Spot-on intonation
  • Electronics tested perfectly
  • Very good overall condition with pictured cosmetic wear
  • Factory gig bag included

This is a great example of the ’72 Reissue Telecaster style — warmer, fuller, and more open than a standard Tele, but still unmistakably Fender. It has the look, feel, and sound that make these such cool players, with honest cosmetic wear that has been clearly photographed and does not get in the way of how well the guitar plays or presents.

Like all my guitars, this one’s been cared for and dialed in—no guesswork, no surprises, just a great instrument that’s ready to play. I personally inspect and test every guitar before it ships, making sure it’s in the exact condition I’d want to receive myself. These guitars come from me, not a shop—each one gets the kind of attention and care only a real guitar lover gives. Ships fast and fully insured via Reverb Safe Shipping.
